British Red Cross
AMAZING TWO YEARS WITH THE UNSUNG HEROES
I was lucky enough to work for the British Red Cross - Digital as a UX designer/researcher. It was an amazing journey to contribute to the UK and international services that help people in need as well as the frontline workers/volunteers, the true hidden heroes.
Working in a small team, I've got to engage most of the production process, from the discovery research to the development to testings/surveys. Also, I've worked closely with the local service managers, engineers and data analysts to bring holistic approaches and work efficiently.
Here's a quick summary of my work:
• Repurposed internal services to help the frontline workers/volunteers work with automated systems and digitalised logs.
• Created digital solutions for the users to access services such as wheelchair hire, cash-hub and the gift shop.
• Conducted user research, workshops and testings to support various initiatives and in and outside the team
• Supported the design system creation and internal testings
FEATURED WORK: HIRE A WHEELCHAIR
We've created a platform for both volunteers and customers to process reservations, equipment issues, loan extensions and returns. The public-facing portal helps service users discover where and when they could get a wheelchair from and reserve it.
The internal system (MOOM) helps volunteers at the Mobility Aids branches manage the process for the customers. It automatically links to the stock management system and gives them real-time inventory information.
OTHER UK / INTERNATIONAL SERVICES
I’ve designed / been involved in other digital solutions such as Red Cross Training, Cash-Hub, Trafficking Response, UK branch website, and gift shop.
